Stand out! Speak Up! “Sock It” to Pediatric Cancer

Advocacy Day 2026

Join us Wednesday, February 4, 2026 from 10am – 1pm to celebrate HB1453, the Pediatric Cancer Research Bill becoming law.  Wear your silliest socks in support of children and young people facing a cancer diagnosis in Indiana.

Event will be held at the Indiana Statehouse, 3rd Floor South

Our Ask for 2026

This year, we are simply asking for advocates and legislators to join us in raising awareness and celebrating the passage of HB1453 and how the bill will advance pediatric cancer research efforts moving forward.

Take one small action on February 4 and Sock It to Childhood Cancer by wearing your silliest socks. If you don’t have silly socks and need some ideas, check out our Pinterest board.

Getting to the event

The Indiana Statehouse is located at, 200 W. Washington St., at the corner of Capitol and Washington Street in downtown Indianapolis. (map link)

Our event will be in the 3rd Floor South Atrium, which is not on the ground floor.

Public entrances are located on the lower west side (Senate Avenue, ground level) and upper east side (Capitol Avenue, up the stairs) of the building. All individuals entering the building must proceed through a security checkpoint, so it is recommended that you arrive into downtown Indianapolis at least 30 minutes early to allow time to find parking and navigate the bag check and metal detector before the start time.

Parking

Street parking on the streets directly surrounding the Statehouse is likely to be limited during the legislative session as much of it will be reserved for legislators and their aides, but if you select a space more than a block away, you may have luck. The nearest public lots will be the Indiana Historical Society Lot ($3/hr or free with minimum gift shop or café purchase) and Court Street Garage ($28/day). The most affordable parking garage option nearby is the World of Wonders Garage at the Circle Center Mall ($20 for 2-4 hours).
